Our Focus
The Challenge
Chronic respiratory diseases, such as Asthma and COPD, are the third leading cause of death globally, impacting 55 million Americans and costing $170 billion annually. Current pulmonary function tests (PFTs) fall short: lab-based tests are expensive and inaccessible, while portable spirometry is unreliable in general care due to test maneuver complexity, limited sensitivity, and the need of specialist administration. Consequently, 52% of patients are diagnosed without proper testing, leading to poor outcomes.
Our Approach
Our system aims to bridge the knowledge gap between specialists and general practitioners, optimizing accessibility, efficiency, and quality in respiratory care across diverse healthcare settings. Our solution delivers sensitive, non-invasive lung function assessment from normal breathing, suitable for patients aged four and older.
Potential Impact
The sensitivity of our solution can detect subtle changes in lung function enabling earlier clinical action and objective treatment decision-making by physicians leading to improved patient outcomes. By facilitating widespread adoption across primary care and specialty settings, we’re working to establish new standards in respiratory care.
